Boondocks II

We love Boondocks - We don't get into the really pricey stuff - and I know my husband would love too, but the kids love the arcade . This time my good Friend D'manda (Amanda) came with us and my kids just love her!
Max loves these motorbikes - Grace wasn't to sure about them because you had to balance when you sat on them. We had almost 300 tickets between this time and last time so we asked the kids to pick out a prize. Grace picked a candy for 4 tickets and a dinosaur for 10, Max got an Army man and a dinosaur. I hope there easy to please prizes last a long time! Meanwhile we still have about 280 tikets for next time.

The random days of summer

One day I'm sure Max won't thank me for this picture, but for now all I can say is this kid makes me laugh!

I have all these random pictures, that are too cute or wacky to not post about, but nothing is really going on to blog about in most of them...

This could be the most painful cheeser in history. Notice the elliptical in the background, I hate it. I tried and tried to like it but I don't. Grace would sit on my bed and say "faster mom, faster. You aren't going very fast mom." Thanks Grace - I'm getting rid of it!

This is my niece Maggie - she is sewing in 4H and she made her skirt. The picture isn't very clear because I was pretty far away but she did such an awesome job!

Max thought it was fun to throw Grace during the fashion show.

Which did not please his sister.

And finally the only picture I can post of the pool without upsetting someone. I'm so glad Adi and Grace our friends!

Can you believe summer is over? Bring on the Halloween decorations and candy!

A peaceful moment

Yep, I'm driving while taking this picture. I'm surprised I got any of Grace in it actually. After going to the pool with my sister my kids were completely exhausted. Max fell asleep within a block of my moms house but Grace is a fighter. I noticed it got quiet and chanced a peak backwards, she was sound asleep with her fingers in her ears. Later I found out that there was a scary lady on Scooby Doo she doesn't like to hear so she plugs her ears and closes her eyes, and this time she zonked right out. It was a very peaceful ride home!
I'm sure there will soon be a law passed about taking pictures while driving.

Bear Lake 2010

It's August and that means Bear Lake time! The kids are getting bigger and more independent and wanted to go go go, we spent hours at the play ground. Grace wanted to dig in the dirt and I kept being a mean mom and saying no. She did it anyway, surprise.

Each year we try and take a picture of the grand kids together - and each year it gets harder to keep my kids still long enough to look at the camera....

The picture with Grace stealing Tylor's hat, I've never seen two boys react so fast - she knows just how to tease them!

Max, Travis, Grace, Tylor & Daisy.

I think this is the only picture I got of Max smiling AT the camera the whole time. This is possibly the saddest face I've ever seen - she was running barefoot and Max stepped on her toe and turned with shoes on. He didn't mean to, and anyone within 100 feet would have thought she lost a toe. I'm sure it hurt, he broke skin but she had one heck of a melt down.

It was colder than usual at Bear Lake, typically we have one storm that rolls through and the rest of the days are nice and sunny, but this week the high temperature was only 77, and it was windy most of the time. Mikes family rented Jet Skis on Friday and we had a beach day, it wasn't the warmest of beach days, but we still had fun!

Seriously, Max could play on the beach for days. Grace was such a little pill - she was scared of the pool, she would get in and cried and cried, but she jumped off the boat into the middle of Bear Lake...hmm. I don't know- she's crazy. And it took her forever to start playing in the sand on the beach day, I said "Grace, you've wanted to dig at the park for days, why aren't you digging now?" The answer - because she's Grace!
By the time we were done at the beach it was everything Max could do to stay awake, I thought he'd fall asleep once we got to the condo but he fought it so hard. Mike and I took the kids for a little car ride and he fell asleep at 6:15, I knew it was going to be a long, long night. I told Mike he had to get up with him at 2 in the morning, but little Max was so tired he didn't wake up until 7 the next day! That NEVER happens at my house!
My favorite part of Bear Lake was watching the kids on the boat, and I didn't get any pictures of it. They each love to drive the boat with Grandpa, Grace is crazy and drives turning the wheel back and forth constantly, the whole time trying to show off for everyone on the boat. Max is very serious, he holds the wheel just like grandpa and can not be bothered to look at anyone else while he's driving.
Such fun times!

My little Morning mOnsTeR's

This morning when Grace came out of her room I starting laughing so hard....
This has got to be the craziest morning bed hair ever.
Max wanted some pictures too...of course!

Again?

Back to the zoo.... I'm trying to get some different pictures each time, but the kids have so much fun so we will keep on going.

This time we went during the zoo members late night. We didn't even get there until 6pm and then had a little picnic. There wasn't very many people and the weather was once again perfect!

We went into the Gorilla house which is Max's favorite because he likes to walk next to the big gorilla but they were getting ready for bed. The lights were out and you could see him curl up on a big burlap sack and pulled a blanket over him. Just like that, it was bed time.
Grace will look at the camera, if she can pull faces!
This is really the only picture I got of Max's lip, this is 3 or 4 days after he put his teeth through it, It looks so much better!

Grace has started picking out her own clothes, and she received many, many compliments about her choice at the zoo!

I have no idea what the folding their arms thing is all about, but I wanted a picture of them on the "Tyler" bench, and they were not exactly cooperative!

Water Slide Fun

We are so lucky to have family on both sides with big fun water slides! Two weeks ago Mike's sister Beth brought over her water slide for the kids to play on. The night before I was trying to pump Grace up for it and told her Daisy has gone down it already. Daisy is Grace's cousin and she's about 1 1/2 years younger. Grace suddenly became very defensive and said "Beth doesn't have a real water slide. She thinks she does, but she doesn't." Sometimes this child is such a scardy cat! Needless to say she spent the day in the kiddie pool, it was perfect for her, and she had so much fun.
Max on the other hand loves the water slide, he's crazy. I can't fully describe it, but he basically lunges of the top of the slide, sometimes coming close to falling out of the water slide area. He isn't scared at all! Look at the faces he pulls on the slide, they say it all!

Don't you just love his little rolls?
