Again?

Back to the zoo.... I'm trying to get some different pictures each time, but the kids have so much fun so we will keep on going.

This time we went during the zoo members late night. We didn't even get there until 6pm and then had a little picnic. There wasn't very many people and the weather was once again perfect!

We went into the Gorilla house which is Max's favorite because he likes to walk next to the big gorilla but they were getting ready for bed. The lights were out and you could see him curl up on a big burlap sack and pulled a blanket over him. Just like that, it was bed time.

This is really the only picture I got of Max's lip, this is 3 or 4 days after he put his teeth through it, It looks so much better!

Grace has started picking out her own clothes, and she received many, many compliments about her choice at the zoo!

I have no idea what the folding their arms thing is all about, but I wanted a picture of them on the "Tyler" bench, and they were not exactly cooperative!

Water Slide Fun

We are so lucky to have family on both sides with big fun water slides! Two weeks ago Mike's sister Beth brought over her water slide for the kids to play on. The night before I was trying to pump Grace up for it and told her Daisy has gone down it already. Daisy is Grace's cousin and she's about 1 1/2 years younger. Grace suddenly became very defensive and said "Beth doesn't have a real water slide. She thinks she does, but she doesn't." Sometimes this child is such a scardy cat! Needless to say she spent the day in the kiddie pool, it was perfect for her, and she had so much fun.

Max on the other hand loves the water slide, he's crazy. I can't fully describe it, but he basically lunges of the top of the slide, sometimes coming close to falling out of the water slide area. He isn't scared at all! Look at the faces he pulls on the slide, they say it all!

Grace and Spencer

This is Grace. This is Grace and her friend Spencer.

Grace and Spencer LOVE to jump.

They are so cute together. Spencer jumps and says "To Infinity and beyond!"

They chased each other, and played together so nicely.

This is Grace, having a hard time keeping her shorts up because she jumps and jumps and jumps.

This is Max. As it turns out Max is not a fan of the tramp. He doesn't like not being in control, so he was slightly okay when it was just him, but absolutely hated it when anyone else was on too.

Max would much rather sit and eat some homemade key lime pie ice cream. And I don't blame him.

Grace took a break from jumping for a minute to throw some poppers. Spencer was not a fan.


All I can say is it's a good thing he's a cute little boy...I'm pretty sure they will be friends for a long time. Spencer's mommy and Grace's daddy's families have been friends since they were little. Hmm....

Hyrum Parade and a little visit to the ER

So, even more fun from the fourth. Have I mentioned that it's my very favorite holiday? I love getting together with our families, I love the summer! We always have so much fun. Plus I love my decorations for my house...I'm lame I know!


Any how, back to the 4th. I kind of feel like we partied all weekend long! With the 4th being on Sunday Logan had their Fireworks Friday, Kaysville Saturday, Hyrum Monday, plus a few water fights and a parade we were tired by the time Tuesday came around. But I wouldn't have changed most of it for anything!

Grace and her Grandma watching the parade. Grace wasn't too aggresive about getting the candy, but she was aggressive about not sharing the Tyler loot!

This year several churchs had entries, it was cool to see all the different things they came up with.

Poor Adi had to have a massive infection lump cut off her foot the morning before the parade. She's a trooper!

We had a BBQ at my moms afterwards and then the kids played on the water slide. We had a fun filled day topped off with fireworks at my moms. Just as we were finishing lighting the fireworks Max tripped and went head first into my moms brick entryway. He put his bottom 4 teeth through his lip and we had to rush him to the ER. Truthfully, I handled our 1st ER/injury visit pretty well. Ecspecially considering he bleed through the whole thing - we ended up bringing the dvd into the ER and he settled down and watched Curious George while the nurses numbed him and prepped him for stitches. But in the end the Doctor thought that glue would work and super glued it shut. I was so okay with this, as long as it held the less pain the better for my little man!

He was really swollen the next day and bruised, but by Wednesday the swelling was gone, the bruisng was gone by Thursday and he looks so much better now. We are so glad it wasn't worse!

Fireman's Waterfight

More fun from the 4th!

Every year the Hyrum firefighters wage water war against the innocent (or not-so-innocent) children of the community. The firemen get big fire hoses and all of the kids share a garden hose and any water guns and balloons they bring.

Before the fight my sister, sister-in-law and I filled up about 200 water balloons for the grand kids. They had one common target - Grandpa Guy! My dad is a fireman with Hyrum City and it makes it that much more entertaining!

Honestly, I'm not sure if the kids or I had more fun. I'm always up for a good water fight, but haven't been in one for many, many years. I had a blast, if you have access to my sisters blog she has a few pictures of me, drenched!

Max was fearless! His squirt gun was 3 inches long and he would run after the fireman. The look on his face was awesome! He was amazed by the fire truck. I loved that he would run straight into the big fire hoses water holding his gun out like he was actually getting them!

No part of me thought Grace would actually play along, too many kids, and she HATES water on her face. But she did so well. She loved trying to throw the balloons at Grandpa. I loved seeing her be so care free. Some of my nieces - Adi, Libby and Nayvie. My favorite part is that we get to do this with the cousins each year, what fun memories!

Max was so cold his lips were blue, but he could never stay wrapped in a towel for longer than a minute and he'd be off chasing someone again.

This fireman has a big fat target on his back for next year. His name is Kevin, and fireman Kevin dumped a big fat bucket of water on me 2 minutes into the fight. I got him back, but I don't forget. My dad says he doesn't either so we'll have to see how next year goes! Mary was not playing, and he succeeded in getting her wet, along with his wife who was behind the fence. I'm pretty sure she's still not talking to him.

This last picture is my nephew Tytan running to throw balloons at my dad, seriously these kids give it there all every year!

Logan's Fireworks

When Mike asked what I wanted to do on Friday night after work I said, "go up to Logan and watch the fireworks and spend the night...." And he will do anything to make me happy, so we packed a bag fast and jumped in the car.

We surprised my family and watched the fireworks across from the stadium. The kids had fun, playing football, coloring with sidewalk chalk, throwing poppers and the adults were busy keeping Max out of the road.

Mike and Grace teamed up and sat on Bracken. Grace though this was hilarious!


By the time the fireworks started we were all ready. Max doesn't remember the ones from last year and he was mesmerized. For about 10 seconds - then he wanted to run! My little stink!

I guess Bracken forgave Grace for sitting on his head and the two of them watched together. I love the fireworks!

More Zooish Adventures

I know we go to the Zoo frequently, so I post frequently about our Zooish lives....but it makes my kids happy! This was our first summer visit with the kids this year - we got there right at 9 and it was nice and breezy! A prefect zoo morning.



We laughed when we entered one of the monkey houses, they had been toilet papered....still not sure why...



The kids watched the elephants, and baby Zuri is still playful. We watched as the trainer showed us how they checked her teeth and feet.

The kids played on the tiger statue...again....

I swear I have never seen the leopard before....I was just telling Mike that I didn't think he was really in there when all of the sudden he walked right past Grace, right next to the glass. It kind of freaked me out. He just sat down and starred.

We just love it!

31!

I'm 31. 31. 31. 31. 31. Can I be honest? Age doesn't bother me. I have never cared how old I am, and birthdays have never effected me. But, this year I simply didn't feel like celebrating much.

Maybe I'm getting old. Maybe. I'm guessing by the amount of gray in my hair - another 5 years and there won't be any brown left. Oh well.

We did do some fun things, for my birthday weekend - Saturday we went with most of my family to see Toy Story 3. It was good, but not my favorite. I really wanted Woody to meet up with Bo Peep. And now I feel bad for my 3000 Cabbage Patch Kids in totes in my basement. And I'm not a lover of 3D movies... Am I the only one?

Then on Sunday we had Oreo cake and homemade Oreo ice cream with Mike's family. I'm just going to say it was so good! We sat outside and relaxed and the evening was so nice.

And then on Monday, my actually Happy day to me we went to Chili's with my mom and dad. I had a free appetizer, a free dessert and $10 off my whole purchase. I love getting yummy deals!
I got some really fun things for my birthday, new summer clothes, a new camera and some Farmville cash :). It was nice just to be with our families. Here's to another year!

Grandpa Todd was "resting his eyes" and Max thought he looked to comfy. He climbed up and made himself comfy too.

The giant ball - or a source of great contention? Both! The kids had so much fun playing on this ball, they all wanted it, all at the same time. My kids are not great sharers.....
