Spring pictures with the cousins -

Last Saturday we tried to get some Easter pictures with Grace and Max's cousins - Tylor, Travis and Daisy. For the record my daughter would not play along - and I was shocked. Grace wouldn't sit still for a picture - really? With the stream, tree's, twigs, horses and swing my daughter wouldn't hold still for a pictures?

My sister-in-law Caitlin took the pictures - they are in back of Mike's parents friends house - she did get some really cute ones - even with a couple little girls who didn't want to sit still, and a young man who has a hard time keeping his eyes open, + a wiggly little boy....

Tylor, Max, Grace, Travis & Daisy

We had to bribe Grace with dimes and balloons to hold still even for a second!
I wish she didn't have the gash on her nose!

Max always is so curious - he is so good natured.

Grace loved this little swing, she is holding a dime so she won't hold onto the ropes very tightly, but she could have played there all day long.

Daisy and Max just wanted to eat sticks.

Grace hiding in the tree's - she also wanted to throw sticks in the stream and made me nervous more than once!

Picture This!

I was toying with the idea of having the kids pictures taken in these outfits, what do you think?
Grace had a run in with the fireplace - she bumped her nose pretty hard.
Do I look like my dad at all?

This was the cutest of the 1200 I tried to get of Grace and Max together....

Not Me Monday....

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by. You can head over to Mckmama's blog at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/ to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This past week I did not wonder why my little boy was pulling on his ear while still on antibiotics, and I'm still trying to convince myself he doesn't have an ear infection. (How do you get one on antibiotics?)

I did not let Grace what TV this morning at 3 am because I was just too tired to fight with her, I know she was still up at 3:45, and after that - hmm... ??? Mother of the Year award right here!

I did not go to the Mall I work at 2-3 days a week on my day off, just to get a Caricature of Grace, only to find there was a huge line and there was no way I was going to wait... Because I am the most patient person in the world, I think we all know this don't we?

Because I am on Weight Watchers I have to slip this one in... For Mike's mom's birthday they ordered Pizza and had three different types of gourmet cakes...(I could tell right then it wasn't going to be a good point day...) I did not ask them to pick me up some salad while his sisters went to get the pizza... and I did not go back and get a second sliver of carrot cake. It did not taste wonderful and I ate all but a few crumbs, which I fed to Max... Who loves carrot cake, maybe as much as me.

I also did not bribe my daughter with pennies and balloons for smiling at the camera for Easter pictures with her cousins - I did not try to cover the gash on her nose with cover-up for said pictures... and maybe the greatest of all - I did not threaten to pull her hair if she messed up her hair one more time before pictures. I had already curled it three times that day! (And just for the record, I honestly did not pull her hair.)

Going back in time.... a week....

A week ago Saturday was so warm - Mike and I took the kids to the park and fed the ducks and let the kids play for a while - they both loved it! Max crawled around in the wood chips and laughed when he went down the slide. Grace is still so scared of other kids, but after they left she just played and played... She is quite a bit like her mommy.... We can not wait for continuous good, warm days!

Not Me Monday....

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to http://www.mycharmingkids.net to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Well - some of you may have realized I did not join in the Not Me Monday last week, and that wouldn't be because I forgot it was Monday, and never typed one. I certainly would never forget what day of the week it was, let alone Monday... (Truthfully, I like Mondays.... I like going to work, I like restarting the weekly routine... I like it.....)

This week I did not have two very insane dreams, and if I did I'm sure they were sleep deprivation induced, one regarding something extremely sad, and when I woke up I laid there completely heartbroken and wondering why I didn't call this person, and how on earth is she okay - only to realize several minutes later I was dreaming - and I did not check her blog just to make sure.... In the other dream I lost my job and the only job I could get was going back to Jacob Lake. Perhaps I spent a little too much time talking to old friends on Facebook....

This week I did not wait until my son was lethargic and had a high temperature to take him to the doctor - I was a real trooper for 3 straight days of HIGH fever, loved the cuddle time, and was joyous when he got down to play Saturday morning. I did not break out in tears Friday night when Grace started getting very upset and I picked her up and she had a fever.... I did not say out loud, that I didn't want another sick baby!

I did not wait until Sunday morning to read though my Sunbeam lesson, and then send Mike to the Wal-Mart for soil and seeds so we could plant some in class.... No - I wouldn't ever do that....
And I certainly didn't bribe one of my sunbeams with treats if he would just sit in his chair...

And finally, I did not look at how many Weight Watcher points I had left last night at 10pm, and proceed to eat 6 points worth of chocolate chips... Nope, Not me.

I most certainly did not do anything inappropriate this week - and I never do!

What's up with Max?

I posted this on facebook earlier today... now I have a minute while daddy holds Max I'll update all the inquiring minds here in the blogger world...

Tuesday I took Max and Grace to the Dr. Max needed his 2nd flu shot and Grace needed her ears checked after her last ear infection. Well, Max was just fine and Grace had another ear infection, so we got a prescription for Grace and went home. The next morning Max was really irritable and as the day progressed he developed a fever and became pretty lethargic. I called the Dr to see if this was normal with the flu shot and she said, no bring him right in.

I took Max in Wednesday afternoon and his breathing was really labored and his oxygen levels were low, they thought he had Pneumonia so we went to the ER for x-ray's - his fever was 103.4, today we went to get the results and he cried all morning long. As soon as we get to the Dr he was smiling, and happy. No results in, but he has stopped eating so I had them check his throat and he has big sores on the roof of his mouth now - so a fever, labored breathing, sores on his mouth and crying - the only thing we know for sure is it's not another ear infection.... Oh, and as soon as we got in the car at the DR - he started crying again... It's good to know I can take him in public and he'll be a good boy.... arg.

Later this afternoon the xrays came back and he does not have Pneumonia, so it must be viral. The doctor wants to keep him on the antibiotic because he's not getting over a cold he's had for weeks/months. All he wants is held and loved.... hopefully he can kick what ever this IS fast! It breaks my heart to see him so sick.

What's cooking in Gracie's kitchen?

Last night I may have been paying a little too much attention to the Bachelor and not to my dear sweet daughter.

Grace came in and started "feeding" me. (Nothing was on the spoon...) I said, "Oh, yummy, what is it?"

"A spoon." She replied so certainly. To which Mike and I laughed pretty hard.

"Oh, well what are you cooking in the pot?"

"Penguin." To which Mike and I died laughing.

I'm not sure how many points penguin is, but I think she paid me back for not playing with her.

Checking in on those New Years Goals

Can you believe it's March already? So, I'm intersted to know if you made any New Year Resolutions this year, and how you are doing -

I've always heard you should not have more than two goals because you won't stick to them, and I usally only make one or two - and I have never done very well - but this year I made several, and I'm not doing too bad!

Here's my 2009 "Goal if you will" list.

1. Read the Book of Morman
a. Finish reading with Mike
b. Start to Finish by the end of August.
(Doing really well by myself, I'm almost through Mosiah - not so good with Mike...)

2. Exercise 90 minutes a week (not so good on this one!)

3. Have family home evening. (Not so good on this one either!)

4. Temple - 12 times in 359 days. (So far we are 2 of 12, right on track!)

5. Scrapbook - 2 pages per month (This should not be hard!) (I've finished 8 pages, that is double ahead of my goal!)

6. Potty train and binka wean Grace. (Potty trained and Binka Weaned! And I'm so proud of my Big Girl!)

7. Lose 60 lbs. (So far I'm at 2!) (This one started to faulter, so I joined Weight Watchers again and I'm down 7.2...)

So - I think that more goals equals more chances to suceed! I also have realized that evaluating in the middle is good, it's funny (in a sad way) that Family home evening and scripture study with Mike are two things that I'm not suceeding at, and those two things can help our family so much!

So what about you? How are your New Years Resolutions coming?

Want a Gift?

This is what you do: The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a gift from me during this year. When and what will be a surprise. There's a small catch though...Post this same thing on your own blog and then come back and leave a comment telling me you're in. But only the first three people to comment get the gift! Good luck! Thanks Cole for the fun idea
