Food Food Food

I thought I had a much better week than I did as far as weight loss goes. I lost 1/2lb, which I am glad it was a loss, but I was so good this past week. We went to 2 bbq's and I brought turkey burger to cook, didn't have a bun and was really selective about my side dishes. Needless to say I was disappointed when I got on the scale. Now that its May my goal of losing 25 lbs seems much more daunting.

We went a little crazy with our basket order this week and ordered several extras.

Saturday Night- we used the Mexican pack and made tomatillo salsa and cafe rio dressing. I made cilantro lime rice and had chicken burritos. All I can say is yum! They were so good!

Sunday -We went to my moms and had a bbq (indoors due to rain...) I brought a fruit plate and used the pineapple and the cantaloupe.

Monday- We used the rest of the Mexican pack and did quesadillas, or burritos or taco salads -

Tuesday - I bought the herb pack and couldn't believe how many fresh herbs we got. I made Jacob Lake's herb mayo chicken sandwiches and served them with green beans and roasted red potato's.

Wednesday - Bobby Flays green Chile burgers, Jicama slaw and red potato smashers.

Thursday - babysitter so probably Mac n' cheese for the kids

Friday - Grilled Chicken salad with Jicama, cucumbers and other veggies

I dried most of the herbs in my food dehydrator. We got garlic, chives, dill, basil, thyme, sage, oregano, tarragon and parsley. We use herbs quite a bit in our cooking so that was a fun splurge!

Gaines and wastes.

Can we say just a little behind?

Well, now that it's Friday evening and I pick up a new basket tomorrow, and I feel like I've hardly used any of my last basket - in all reality the last basket was excellent. We got red potatos, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, apples, bananas, strawberries, a watermellon and a pineapple. Mike got sick and could hardly eat for 2 days, I went up to Hyrum one night and I worked until 9pm two nights so I hardly cooked at home at all.

I weighed in this week and gained a pound. I feel okay about it, I was horrible Easter week and the fact I went back and got on the scale at all, knowing I was still up was a good thing. This week I've been so good, and I can't wait until Monday to see how I've done!

He said...

I say it all the time, my kids make me laugh. They say the funniest things, at least I think so...;)

Today Max came up to me and I had a band-aid on my leg, he said, "Mom have owie?" I said yes. He said "Gracie break your heart?" Because if mom has a band aid on, what else could it be than a broken heart, even if it was on my shin.

Egggggggssss

After the Easter Egg hunt we all went to my moms and had a great breakfast and colored 6 dozen eggs.

My nieces Maggie & Nayvie and nephew Tytan-

My niece Emery had to have some egg fun too.

My sister Cassie and her um...friend Josh-

My niece Libby

We look forward to Easter weekend each year. I love that my mom doesn't worry about the kids ruining things and lets them be as messy as they can possibly be!

Hyrum Easter Egg Hunt

We went to the Easter Egg hunt up in Hyrum with our cousins. Last year we hunted in the snow and this year a jacket was perfect. Actually the weather all weekend long was so nice!

Grandma helping Grace~ & Max. The little turkey just doesn't get the whole goal of an Easter Egg hunt. He wants to pick up one egg, open it, eat it and then go after another egg. Doesn't he understand its about how many eggs you have in your basket?! ;)

Grandma Kate is always good on Easter Egg hunts! She's not afraid to push over other kids - kidding, a little bit ;)

Grace showing off her eggs~
Max eating his candy. Of course it was rock hard and he could hardly bite in to it.

Josh & Cassie, Patch & Ashley and some of the grand kids. I'm pretty sure Cassie has never done her hair for an Easter Egg hunt before....hehhe.

Grace & her BFF Ashley

Shaun and my niece Emery, could she be any cuter?

Well worth the hour drive ;)

Easter Family Home Evening

Mikes family did an Easter themed family home evening the week before Easter. We had dinner, an Easter Egg hunt and then his sister told the story of the resurection. Grace & Max and their cousin Daisy colored a picture of Jesus, the tomb and the stone.

Mikes sister also made each of the kids a picture of a temple and with the kids name on it and framed it. They turned out so nice!

Max didn't sit down at all through the lesson. The next morning he was playing with the cutouts and he said "I Jesus" then he put the cutout Jesus in the tomb and put the rock over the entrance. "AAHH! It's dark in here, monsters!" Then he said angels move the rock and he smiled. He must have picked up more than I thought he did.
