4th of July

The 4th of July is my all time favorite holiday.  I love feeling patriotic, watching the parade in the comfort of a canopy, seeing the flag and floats come by, watching the kids get candy and the family BBQ after the parade.  I love spending the day with our families, I love finishing the day at Mike's parents watching the Kaysville fireworks from their lawn.  I love it all.  I'm so thankful for this wonderful land we live in, where we are free and safe.  I'm thankful to those who make that possible, and fight for the freedoms of others.

The second half of the day we played in the water at Mike's parents, by we I mean the kids.  Daisy brought her slip and slide and the kids had fun being propelled down it by Grandpa Todd.

Black Eyes & Birthdays

Just because he is so stinkin cute....

One fine day, Grace and Max were playing.  You know that saying it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt?  Well Max was being Captain America, and he wacked Grace with his shield.  She wouldn't let me post the pictures, and it took a long time for her to let me take a picture of her.

By the next day her nose was swollen and her other eye was black too, now almost two months later you can still see the remnants of the black eye.

This is how Grace sleeps, spread out, feet sideways.  She is impossible to sleep with!
We also made another trip to Lagoon for my birthday, we went with my brother Patch and sister Cassie this time. We let the kids play in the splash pad area, which is not something I've ever done before, but I brought them a change of clothes.  Grace was done after a few minutes, but Max loved it.  He played for almost an hour, we were all so bored by the time he was done, but it was well over 100 degrees that day so I'm sure it felt so nice.

I have almost 20 pictures and 3 video's of Max playing he was so cute.
A couple funnies.... the day before Mike had commented that Bennett had never had a blow out...wouldn't you know it, his first blow out was at Lagoon!  Glad I always have a change of clothes for him.

We rode Wicked while Cassie watched the kids, I'm not kidding when I say I was not in the seat right.  I have been on it before and this time I almost fell out, my bar wasn't tight enough and I couldn't get it tighter.  I felt money coming out of my pocket, but when we finished my brother said I could thank him anytime.  He reached his hand out to catch the money when he saw it and instead caught my keys!  I hadn't even realized I lost them, and actually I had two sets in my pockets, and the other ones fell to the depths of Wicked.  Lagoon actually found them and we got them back, but that's a ride I'm glad to walk away alive from!

Lagoon

We are loving our Lagoon season passes this year.  It's nice living so close, we go for a few hours in the morning, then home during the hot part of the day and then go back for a few more hours.    I have no idea who the little girl in back of Max is, she just climbed on in.

This picture doesn't do the outfit justice.  They are snake skin, tight fitting, polyester pants my friends.  It was such a hot day, I don't know how this woman was walking around in a coat, not just a little jacket, it was that furry lined stuff.
And yes, that is Max hanging his leg out of the ride.  This kid is going to be the death of me.
