A few weeks ago I wanted to go to the bathroom, all by myself - because I figure at 31 I should be able to go all by myself, but alas, my children felt otherwise. I shut the door, and heard a sharp intake of breath, I reopened the door and Grace was standing there, and then started shrieking. I closed her pinky finger in the hinge side of the door. I felt horrible, she felt horrible and we both cried and cried.
Mike was at Scouts, so I just sat and held her for a minute, but it was already turning purple and swelling so I called Mike (bawling) and then dropped Max off at the church and headed up to Wee Care, because you know, accidents can't happen during normal business hours. Grace was wearing her purple princess dress - which all the nurses and doctors totally loved.
There was another little girl there was was screaming hysterically. To my benefit this other little girl took Grace's mind off her finger - she just wondered why the little girl was so sad. They took x-ray's and the guy who took them was so good. He told Grace about his little girl who loved Sleeping Beauty and Grace told him that Malificent was so mean because she was having a bad hair day. He gave her 3 suckers, 1 for each x-ray. The doctor told us it was broken and he wanted to splint it - but she wasn't so fond of that idea. They wanted to use pretty tape, but she wanted plain white. The nurse had to bribe her with more suckers to let her put the splint on.
While we were waiting for the doctor Grace told me I didn't love her anymore because I didn't want her to be in the bathroom with me, and I shut her finger in the door. So, the video is about 1/2 hour later, after I convinced her that I still did love her!
She was suppose to wear the splint for 2 weeks, but it was so hard to keep on her tiny finger. We ditched the splint after a week and just taped her finger up for a few more days.
All better!

I am glad to know that she is back to thinking that you love her again. I love that she walked away with a bounty of suckers too. She is too cute how could you not give her a zillion goodies. I can tell you that I am 32 and I still have three little kids who think they "NEED" me while I go to the bathroom. Oh the joys of parenthood.
